WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- Family and friends are shedding light on Brady Oestrike, the man accused of killing a Grand Rapids man, his eight months pregnant girlfriend, and their unborn child.

In just a matter of hours Oestrike's face became known as that of a cold-blooded killer, but for those who've known Brady for years, it's taking longer to digest the news.

Outside his home on Taft Avenue SW, Oestrike's sister, Barbara Miling, paused as she spoke with WZZM. "He was a great guy and this is shocking and I loved Brady."

Oestrike's best friend, Andrew Weener says Brady was in his wedding just a few months ago. Weener says he worked as an electrical lineman and had several hobbies."Dungeons and Dragons club, had a big collection of medieval items, including swords, and had a house full of guns," Weener said.

Wyoming police confirmed they found weapons in Oestrike's home, including assault style rifles.

But there are other sides of Oestrike that remain mysterious, like why he was talking on Craisglist to Brooke Slocum, the 18-year-old pregnant woman found dead in the trunk of his 2005 yellow Chevrolet Cobalt. Or why he used Joat Amos as an alias on Facebook.

A look at his criminal background doesn't seem to give many clues; according to Michigan State Police records, his only arrest was in 2003 for retail fraud.
