MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — 13-year-old Ella McGuire left her home in the morning on Wednesday, July 31. Now, less than a week later, she was found safe, across the country according to the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office.
Ella was suspected to be with an unknown man, and was considered a runaway. She was found Monday morning in Spanaway, Washington with a 36-year-old man from that area.
Police said they suspect the man picked her up from her home in Paris, Michigan. They said they believe he then somehow brought her to Spanaway with him.
The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office said the man is in police custody and the investigation is ongoing.
