GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — FRUITPORT CLOSED TODAY: Fruitport schools in Muskegon County will remain closed today due to Thursday's storm. Winds over 60 miles per hour tore the roof off Edgewood Elementary and knocked our power to another elementary school. 

The district says it's hoping the necessary repairs will be made over the weekend.

REETHS PUFFER BACK TO SCHOOLAll schools in the Reeths-Puffer district will be reopened Friday, according to the superintendent.

Students at the high school were dismissed early Wednesday after a bullet was found in the bathroom. The district was closed "out of an abundance of caution" Thursday for investigation.

GH COACH FUNERALVisitation services will begin today for Dave Prout, a beloved soccer coach at Grand Haven High School. 

Prout died last week at his home following a battle with stomach cancer. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dykstra Funeral Homes Mulder Chapel in Holland.

KELLOGGS TENTATIVE DEAL: Kellogg’s has reached a new tentative agreement with its 1,400 striking cereal plant workers that could bring an end to the strike that began Oct. 5.

Members of the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union will vote on the new offer that includes cost-of-living adjustments and a $1.10 per hour raise for all employees on Sunday. Last week, the union overwhelmingly rejected a previous offer from the Battle Creek, Michigan-based company.
