Gerald R. Ford International Airport anticipates record-high travel this weekend

More than 100,000 passengers are estimated to be flying in and out of the airport from June 30 through July 7.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Gerald R. Ford International Airport expects record-high travel this weekend. 

With the Fourth of July around the corner and summer plans falling into place, the airport said TSA nationwide expects to process over 3 million passengers. 

In Grand Rapids alone, the airport anticipates travel numbers to be 12% above its 2023 Fourth of July travel levels.

More than 100,000 passengers are estimated to be flying in and out of the airport from June 30 through July 7. 

“We are thrilled to welcome passengers as they head out for their summer vacations,” said Tory Richardson, president and CEO of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority. “With our modern facilities, enhanced amenities and new concession and retail options, we aim to provide an exceptional experience for all travelers passing through our airport.”

Top destinations for travel include Orlando and Clearwater, Florida; Nashville, Tennessee and Washington D.C.
