WYOMING, Mich. — A 15-year-old student was arrested after Godfrey-Lee faculty and police found a handgun in a backpack Friday morning.
The Wyoming Police Department said they were called to the East Lee campus around 9:20 a.m.
Godfrey-Lee staff learned some word-of-mouth rumors that someone brought a firearm to school. They checked it out and ended up finding a handgun in a 15-year-old student's backpack.
Police arrested the teen.
It's now up to the Kent County Prosecutor's Office to review potential charges moving forward.
