GRPD investigating shots fired report near College Inn

GRPD said there is a Michigan State Police helicopter in the area. However, they said that is part of a routine flyover and is not related to the incident.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) confirmed told 13 ON YOUR SIDE that they are investigating a report of shots fired near the intersection of Leonard Street NE and College Avenue NE.

The College Inn bar is near that area.

The report came in shortly after 10:00 p.m. Friday night.

A 13 ON YOUR SIDE crew went to the scene and noted the intersection of College and Leonard was blocked off in all directions.

Authorities on scene said there was evidence of shots fired as they found shell casings.

Initial reports, according to police, are that one car was driving and shooting at another car that was driving as well.

Police also said they had no information yet on whether anyone was injured in the incident.
