GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — This weekend hundreds of actors, artists, cosplayers and vendors are converging on DeVos Place for the annual Grand Rapids Comic-Con.
This year, legendary actor Danny Trejo is among the lineup.
Since he began acting in 1985, Trejo has appeared in hundreds of roles, from TV shows to movies like "From Dusk Till Dawn" and "Desperado." Many of his roles are in the thriller and horror genres.
The iconic actor will be at the convention on Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16—and event director and co-owner Mark Hodges said they are "thrilled" to have Trejo attend.
“Danny is one of the most recognizable actors in Hollywood today and has amassed an impressive roster of memorable roles," he said. "He is also incredibly philanthropic and his personal story is inspirational. We are pleased that he accepted our invitation.”
Along with Trejo, visitors can meet a variety of renowned artists, actors, authors and more.
There will be voice actors from popular anime series like "My Hero Academia" and "Attack on Titan," as well as artists who drew for comics like "Superman" and "Deadpool."
You can also expect vendor booths selling comics, collectibles, artwork, games and more.
For those looking for more interactive activities, there will be fan-led panel discussions, a film festival, tabletop gaming and kids' activities.
The Grand Rapids Comic-Con runs Friday, Nov. 15 from noon to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at DeVos Place.
