GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm Market is hosting its third annual Dogs & Donuts event to benefit a Grand Rapids nonprofit that works to support animal welfare organizations.

On Oct. 5 and 6 dogs are invited to the farm for a $5 donation entry fee to BISSELL Pet Foundation

The farm said the event on Saturday will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is going to be bigger and better than before.

The event will feature adoptable dogs, microchip checks, giveaways, doggie donuts, pup cups, a photo booth and more.

Stephanie Ginsberg, one of the "Dunneback Girls," said the furry friends should be well-behaved and kept on a leash, but the pups have almost full access to the farm.

Dogs can join their family when they participate in U-Pick apple picking, corn mazes and wagon rides.

"We have fun," Ginsberg said. "I mean, some people, they dress up their dogs, you know, very fall festive fun. So we love all of our animals, and it's fun to see them all here on the farm, enjoying everything with their families."

The adoptable dogs at the event will be from these local rescues and shelters:

  • Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue
  • Humane Society of West Michigan
  • Saving Souls Pet Alliance
  • Ionia County Animal Shelter

The pet-themed market will feature local small businesses with treats, accessories and pet drawings. Businesses include:

  • A Round of Apaws Dog Training
  • B2K9 Group
  • Camp Bow Wow Hudsonville
  • Camp Hound
  • Coast to Coast Bandanas
  • Contigo Dogs
  • Furry Land Mobile Grooming
  • Humble Hound Pet Waste Removal
  • K9 Kuisine
  • Pleasant Hearts Food Pantry
  • Pups Barkery
  • Reactive Referral Center
  • Valynn Victoria Designs, Pet Artist
  • Wild & Free Pet Services
  • Your Pets Naturally

On Sunday, the market and adoptable dogs will be gone. However, dogs are still welcome at the farm to see all that it has to offer during the fall season.
