OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A man had to be transported to the hospital by AeroMed on Tuesday following a crash on the highway.
The crash happened on WB I-196 near Adams Street around 10 a.m., according to deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the 2015 Chevy work van left the roadway and hit a tree, pinning the driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Grand Rapids man, in the car.
The Holland Township Fire Department was able to get the man out of the car, deputies said.
Westbound I-196 was shut down briefly to allow AeroMed to land on the highway and take the man to the hospital, according to troopers.
The crash is still under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
