Grandville crash leaves 2 people injured

GRANDVILLE, Mich. — Two people are in the hospital after a crash in Grandville on Saturday afternoon, according to the Grandville Police Department. 

Around 12:10 p.m. Grandville Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the 3100 block of 28th Street SW for a crash. 

According to police, an 80-year-old Grand Rapids woman entered 28th Street from a parking lot and was hit by another vehicle traveling westbound on 28th Street. 

Police said the woman needed to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. 

The other driver, a 29-year-old man from Wyoming, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said. 

28th Street SW was closed between the 3100 and 3200 blocks for about three hours following the crash but has since reopened. 

Police said the crash is still under investigation.
