At least five fire departments responded to Grandville storage unit fire

While the cause of the fire is not yet known, dispatch told 13 ON YOUR SIDE that the fire spread to at least 12 different storage units.

GRANDVILLE, Mich. — A fire broke out at Mini Storage Depot on Canal Avenue SW in Grandville Friday evening. Kent County dispatch said at least five fire departments responded to battle the blaze.

While the cause of the fire is not yet known, dispatch told 13 ON YOUR SIDE that the fire spread to at least 12 different storage units.

The call for the fire came in around 5 p.m. and crews had the fire mostly put out by 6 p.m. However, dispatch said as of 9:20 p.m. Friday that crews were still on scene taking care of "hot spots."
