Schools in the Belding district were locked down after a threat was posted to social media Tuesday morning against the high school.
Police say the threat, made around 10:30 a.m., was made by a 54-year-old Rockford man.
A news release from the Belding Police Department said the lockdown was a precaution. It was lifted shortly after 1 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
