GRPD: One injured in shooting on city's southeast side

Witnesses told police that two men were shooting at a single male subject.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating a Saturday shooting on the city’s southeast side.

The incident happened at around 4:20 p.m. on Oakdale Street SE near Kalamazoo Avenue SE. GRPD Sgt. John Wittkowski said multiple caliber casings were located on scene. Witnesses told police that two men were shooting at a single male subject.

At around 5:15 p.m., a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the arm arrived at an area hospital. Police believe he is the victim in the Oakdale shooting. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
