GRPD: 15-year-old found dead in Grand Rapids shooting

Grand Rapids Police say officers found the teen when they arrived. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 15-year-old boy was found dead from a shooting in Grand Rapids Sunday evening.

Police say the shooting happened in the 400 block of Umatilla Street SE near Madison Avenue around 8:10 p.m. 

Grand Rapids Police say officers found the teen when they arrived. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not have any suspects in custody at this time.

The Major Case Team is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 616-456-3380 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
