There's a multitude of programs and events being held for youths, teens and adults this holiday season.

MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Hackley Public Library in Muskegon is welcoming the holiday season with programs for youths, teens and adults.

For those ages 13-17, the library will be holding a "Teen Hang Out" on Dec. 18 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. for teens to play on the Nintendo Switch, eat pizza and create designs with Perler beads.

On Dec. 12 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., the library will be holding an estate planning seminar for adults presented by Anna Duggins from Parmenter Law.

"Books on Tap," an evening book discussion event at Pigeon Hill Brewery, will be held on Dec. 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. The group meets monthly and the next book the group reads can be voted on at the MADL Facebook page. Although the group meets at a brewery, participants can be under 21, they just can't drink at the event.

There will be a different kind of discussion held on Dec. 13 called "Let's Get Real" from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. surrounding parenting needs and the future of resources for Muskegon County residents. Children are welcome at the event and snacks will be provided.

For the creative writers in the area, the library is hosting a "Left to Write" creative writing group on Dec. 13 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

"No Holiday Drama Here!" is an evening of play readings hosted by the library on Dec. 14 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event will feature numerous holiday stories performed by Les Rorick and his performance troupe.

To close out the holiday event season, there will be a webinar on Dec. 28 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. hosted by motivational speaker Constance Hallinan Lagan to cover gratitude, forgiveness, prioritizing happiness and more heading into the new year. You can register for the event here

For those who aren't able to attend library programs, there will be sparkly snowflake craft kits and small jelly jars to decorate for free starting on Dec. 4. There will also be take-and-make reindeer-themed hot chocolate kits to pick up on Dec. 9 while supplies last.
