Halloween display made by everyday items, community donations lights up Muskegon Heights

The Bohland family made everything themselves out of donations from the community and everyday items.

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — A house in Muskegon Heights going big for Halloween with an incredible display.

They've made everything themselves out of donations from the community and everyday items from the dollar store and Walmart.

This is something the Bohland Family started in 2020 to keep busy while everything was closed during the pandemic.

The first year, they started with a graveyard and they've been adding on ever since.

"Every year, we come up with new ideas and we add more. We've had people from the community stop by and drop stuff off, 'will you add this to your display?' And we always do," said Gregory Boland, who owns the home with his wife, Ashleigh.

The Bohland family says the reason behind the display is just because it's fun.

You can check it out on Sanford Street in Muskegon Heights.
