HART, Mich. — The body of a man who drowned in Hart Lake was recovered Sunday, police say.
The drowning happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday. A 31-year-old man from Six Lakes was swimming in Hart Lake when he began struggling, went under the water and did not resurface, according to police.
The man's body was later recovered by members of the Oceana County Sheriff's Office Dive Team and Mason County Sheriff's Office Dive Team.
Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a factor. The man's identity has not been released.
"We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the victim’s family referencing this tragic event," reads a release from police.
