HOLLAND, Mich. — No one was injured in a fire early Saturday morning that spread from a motorhome into another residence, according to the City of Holland.

Around 4:40 a.m., the Holland Fire Department was called to 645 Concord Drive for a residential fire.

When units arrived, they said the motor home and the residence next to it were engulfed in flames, but everyone who lived there made it out safely.

Responding units said fire conditions were difficult to deal with due to it expanding into the interior attic and basement areas, so a crew remained on the scene until noon to ensure it was fully put out.

The city said the damage to the motor home and the residence is significant and beyond repair.

It's currently unknown what started the fire, but it is being investigated by the department's Fire Marshal.

The city said residents were able to make it out in time because their family dog alerted them to the fire, as well as their smoke alarms once the fire progressed.

The Holland Fire Department encourages the community to check their alarms because they do save lives.
