OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — One man is injured following a shooting in Holland Township on Tuesday morning, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the shooting was reported around 11:45 a.m. and troopers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Lakewood Boulevard.
When they arrived at the scene, deputies said they found a 47-year-old Holland Township man with a gunshot wound in his leg. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and the wound isn't believed to be life-threatening.
Deputies later learned the man went to a retail parking lot and met with people he knew. Investigators said that was where he accidentally shot himself in the leg with his own gun.
He returned to a home on East Lakewood, and first responders were called.
There is no threat to the public at this time.
