Officers with the Holland Department of Public Safety have come up with a sweet deal to break the ice with local kids.
On Tuesday, June 6, the department will unveil West Michigan's first police ice cream truck. That's happening at DPS headquarters at 12:45 p.m.
The department has been working on this for nine months. They hope to foster new relationships with people, especially kids, and interact with them in a positive manner.
The program is made possible by donors who supplied and outfitted the ice cream truck and supplied the free treats.
