HOLLAND, Mich. - A historic part of Holland is getting a new home.
The Fried Cottage is being moved. It is being moved in order to make room for a new campus ministries center. Construction on that project will begin this fall.
The Fried Cottage will be placed in it's new location at the corner of Columbia and 14th Street.
"It's over 200 tons of very, very heavy home," explained Greg Maybury, senior project manager at Hope College. "It's a double layer, brick built home -- but it's solid and we're willing to invest in upgrading it to modern code."
Crews described the process as a caterpillar moving over uneven ground.
