UPDATE: Officers have identified the 17-year-old found with a gun, 13 ON YOUR SIDE is not yet naming him. According to officials, the student has been arraigned and remains in Ottawa County Jail. He is charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Receiving and Concealing a Stolen Firearm and Possession of a weapon in a weapon free zone.
HOLLAND, Mich. - A school lockdown was imposed Thursday, Sept. 13 at West Ottawa High School after a student brought a gun to school.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said two resources deputies were tipped off that a 17-year-old student brought a gun to school. They located the student and confirmed he had a small caliber hand gun.
He was taken into custody without incident.
According to district officials, the lockdown lasted about 20 minutes.
Deputies say no motive is known at this time and no official charges have announced.
