HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- A West Ottawa High School teacher is under investigation, accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.
Investigators say the case involves a male teacher and a female student who is 16 years old.
Detectives became aware of the case on March 2, after they were contacted by a concerned parent. Detectives are describing the case as an alleged inappropriate relationship between the teacher and student.
At this point, detectives say the investigation only involves one student, and they say there is no imminent danger to other students. Investigators say the school district has been cooperative with the investigation.
School leaders would not comment on the status of the teacher at the school. Assistant Superintendent Greg Warsen released a statement saying, "It is a personnel matter currently under investigation and therefore we cannot comment further."
No charges have been filed at this point. The Ottawa County Prosecutors Office will be reviewing this case and the investigation is ongoing.
