KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) posted to X, formerly Twitter, saying one of their K9s was stabbed Tuesday night.
The K9 was stabbed during the apprehension of a suspect. They said the dog has been taken to an emergency animal hospital in Byron Center to receive medical care.
The dog's condition is unclear at this time.
KDPS also said the suspect is in custody. They asked the public to keep the K9 in their thoughts.
KDPS said they will share updates as they get more information.
