KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo residents with Verizon Wireless may be having issues with their service Thursday.
The Kalamazoo County Dispatch Authority posted to Facebook saying that Verizon is experiencing "major service degradation issues" in the Kalamazoo area.
They said that there was no restoration period given for when the problem may be resolved. However, the Verizon website said they estimated it would be fixed in 12-24 hours.
On the Verizon website they also said the issue began around 2:30 p.m. Thursday and they are working on it.
The Kalamazoo County Dispatch Authority recommended that if residents are unable to make an emergency voice call or text to 9-1-1, they should try to connect to wifi service(s) and retry again.
If residents still experience difficulty, they'll need to use a different device with another service provider.
