GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man was arrested on multiple charges related to child sexual abuse, Michigan State Police said.
Steve Ritsema, a 69-year-old Grand Rapids man, was arrested on one count of aggravated child sexually abusive activity, one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, one count of aggravated distribution/promoting of child sexually abusive material and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
He was arraigned on Wednesday, July 3.
Investigators learned Ritsema was communicating with people about creating, viewing, sharing and uploading files of child sexually abusive content online. He was arrested after digital evidence was seized from his home.
If convicted, the charges add up to a maximum of 70 years in prison.
