KENT COUNTY, Mich. — No one was seriously hurt after a crash between a Kent County Sheriff's Deputy and a Kia late Monday morning.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office said just after 11 a.m., a deputy was responding to a medical emergency.

Authorities said that the deputy was in a marked cruiser, and had their lights and sirens on.

The law enforcement vehicle was driving southbound on Meyers Lake when a Kia collided with the cruiser near 14 Mile Road and Montcalm Avenue, authorities said.

That collision caused the cruiser to roll onto its side. No one was seriously injured.

The Michigan State Police are now handling the investigation.
