Take a spooky walk through Covenant Park during 'Haunted Hikes'

Hikers will embark on a guided one-mile trek through Covenant Park, complete with Halloween decorations and ambient lighting throughout.

KENTWOOD, Mich. — If you're looking for a way to enjoy the fall weather and get a thrilling experience at the same time, the Kentwood Parks and Recreation team has the perfect event for you.

Called "Haunted Hikes," the event will take hikers on a guided one-mile trek through Covenant Park. The trail will have Halloween decorations and ambient lighting interspersed throughout.

At the end of the trail, hikers will enjoy a campfire and light refreshments.

Event organizers said participants should prepare themselves for some spooky moments.

“We’re looking forward to hosting our second Haunted Hike event,” said Shelby Henshaw, recreation program coordinator. “The Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department strives to offer a variety of events to provide something for every community member to enjoy, including those seeking a thrill.”

The hikes are this Friday, Oct. 25. There will be three different sessions to choose from:

  • 7 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.
  • 7:45 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • 8:30 p.m. - 9:15 p.m.

If you're interested in registering for one of the time slots, visit the Kentwood website here. Each time slot costs $5 per attendee. It is recommended that children be at least 10 years old. Registration will remain open online until noon on Friday.
