ROTHBURY, Mich. - This year, Electric Forest spanned two weekends, and during that time Michigan State Police responded to 97 complaints.
Of those 97, a total of 27 people were arrested and there are 31 more people whose arrest is pending while their cases are reviewed by the Oceana County Prosecutor's Office.
The charges ranged from felonies: drug and larceny charges to misdemeanors: assault, drug possession, trespassing, disorderly conduct, destruction of property and running from police.
Troopers with Michigan State Police are assisted with emergency medical services during the festival. MSP has provided law enforcement services for the festival since 2011 and also in 2008 and 2009.
Any overtime, travel costs, or other expenses related to MSP's assignment at the festival is reimbursed by the organizers of Electric Forest so that is is no cost to Michigan residents.
