SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. - More than 400 mermaids gathered together in South Haven on Saturday, May 26 in an attempt to set a world record.
The goal was to gather the world's largest gathering of people dressed as mermaids for a Guinness World Records official attempt, which requires a minimum of 300 people to set the record.
From 12-3 p.m. a variety of people dressed in mermaids costumes filled the pier at the South Haven Lighthouse.
Now, event organizers will submit evidence to the Guinness World Records in order to secure the title.
