The West Michigan Whitecaps' field will return this spring with a new look

New additions to the field will be "a new ballpark experience."

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. — LMCU Ballpark will look a bit different next year.

Whitecaps fans can expect to see new seating, terrace areas and more by Spring 2025.

The stadium is starting its multi-phase, multi-year series of projects and most recently, a new clubhouse is being installed.

The clubhouse will be located in left field and is sponsored by Family Fare. The clubhouse will be located above the Whitecaps Performance Center which is sponsored by Michigan’s Dairy Farmers. It will allow both fans and payers to utilize the area.

“You'll be able to rent the space upstairs in the Family Fare clubhouse," said Dan Morrison, vice president of sales and marketing. “You can come down with your group, take some hits in the batting areas and enjoy some beverages and food.”

To meet player safety initiative standards, the park’s bullpens will be removed from the playing surface and moved to behind the park’s outfield.

This change is why the field will be reconfigured. The outfield’s lawns are set to be completely removed sometime next week.

New seating will also be added to the lineup with this phase of construction. Terraces will be added on the first and third base sides of the field. Outfield seating will also still be available.

West Michigan’s Erhardt Construction is the general contractor for these projects and will have assistance from Progressive AE.

"We're excited and want to see get completed as quickly as possible," Morrison said. "But it will be a multi-year, multi-phase project. So each year, hopefully, we'll be able to reintroduce something new to the fans, and it'd be exciting for our staff."
