GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A West Michigan donut shop is asking for community support after its building was apparently part of a hit and run situation.
Sandy’s Donuts, located at 2040 Leonard Street NW, was closed for two weeks during the holidays. But when the owners came back to reopen, they were met with what they called “a massive amount of damage” to the building.
On Tuesday, pictures were posted to Sandy’s Donuts Facebook page. According to the post, the owners believe someone had hit the building and then left without leaving a note.
“Between the restrictions in place, January being the slowest month of the year, the huge amounts of money lost last year, just to name a few, this was not something we were expecting or prepared to deal with,” the post reads. “We are hoping whoever this was lets us know. We are hoping it was an accident. We are hoping you do the right thing to make this better.”
The shop is asking anyone with information to contact them via private message on Facebook.
