LOWELL, Mich. (WZZM) -- The high school football season arrived early, with Friday night's Lowell High School alumni game.
Past members of the Red Arrows played to help raise money for a youth football program.
They took on alumni from Lakewood High School.
Players say they jumped at the chance to put on the uniforms and help the community.
"Well, Coach Dean called me back a few months ago and asked me if I would be interested and raising some money for the community and the football program, and I said, 'Of course,'" explained Keith Nichol of the class of 2006.
Mike Koster graduated in 2004 and said, "You see people you haven't talked to in ten years. My brother is actually on this team, too, and he's nine years older. He graduated in 1995, so we have two decades of people here."
"I'm already sweating; I've had one play. You know, Lowell is all about football, so this is it right here," said Corey Perdaris, who graduated in 2001.
Fundraising is nothing new to Lowell football. Every fall, the high school holds a fundraiser called the Pink Arrow Project, which helps families dealing with cancer in the community.
Lowell's regular football season starts August 29th, when they play an international team -- the Canadian Prep Football Academy Raiders.
