Man arrested for solicitation, accosting a minor in human trafficking sting operation

The operation was set to target consumers of human trafficking, sextortion and prostitution. Two Grand Rapids area men were arrested.

MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — A sting operation ended with two arrests of Grand Rapids area men, the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office says. 

Erik Lundquist, a 53-year-old from Comstock Park, was arrested for solicitation and accosting a minor who is less than 16 years of age. 

A second man, a 48-year-old from Grand Rapids was also arrested for solicitation/prostitution of persons under 18. He has not been identified yet, as he is awaiting arraignment. 13 ON YOUR SIDE will provide an update when he is identified.

The operation was set to target consumers of human trafficking, sextortion and prostitution. It happened in Rogers Heights in Mecosta Township.

Police say the decoys involved in the investigation were adults. No children were involved or harmed in the sting.

The sting operation involved several local law enforcement agencies, including: Mecosta County Sheriff's Office, Newaygo County Sheriff's Office, Montcalm County Sheriff's Office, Osceola County Sheriff's Office: Michigan, Big Rapids Department of Public Safety, Ferris State University Department and City of Mt. Pleasant Public Safety.
