NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. — A man died after a water emergency in Newaygo County on Wednesday evening, according to the Newaygo County Sheriff's Office.
NCSO said around 8:20 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a body of water in Ensley Township.
Deputies said initial reports showed a man was yelling for help after a boat capsized.
When deputies arrived, they determined two people were in the boat when it flipped over and that they both made it to shore.
One of the people was treated at the scene and released.
Deputies said the other person in the boat, a 66-year-old man from Hastings, had a medical emergency at the scene and died.
Multiple other agencies assisted NCSO in the rescue.
