GREENVILLE, Mich. — A man was injured after being hit by a vehicle Thursday morning in Greenville, according to the Greenville Department of Public Safety.

Police said around 7:20 a.m. police were dispatched to the 200 block of S Lafayette Street (M-91) near E Cass Street for a report of a man who wasn't moving after being hit by a vehicle.

A preliminary investigation showed that a 79-year-old Cedar Springs man was hit by a 2011 Toyota Sienna passenger van driven by a 45-year-old Greenville resident. The vehicle had been traveling southbound on S Lafayette Street.

Police said when they arrived the man was somewhat conscious but soon became unresponsive.

GDPS said life-saving measures were taken and the man regained a pulse. When EMS arrived, he was taken to a local hospital for stabilizing treatment, and then taken to another hospital for further care.

The crash is still under investigation by GDPS. Police said the driver is cooperating with the investigation.
