OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — An Ottawa County man will soon learn his sentence after he allegedly exposed himself to two young employees at a Georgetown Township ice cream shop.
Robert Linscott, 68, plead no contest to multiple charges on Monday. He was arraigned back in July on two counts of Indecent Exposure by a Sexually Delinquent Person.
He will be sentenced on November 25.
The charges against him go back to an incident on June 23. According to probable cause documents obtained by 13 ON YOUR SIDE, Linscott allegedly went to What's the Scoop Ice Cream Shop on Baldwin Street and ordered ice cream. He sat at a table inside the store and later exposed himself out of the bottom of his shorts to the 19-year-old employee, documents say. He is also accused of touching himself while watching the employee.
Linscott left the store and detectives were unable to identify him.
About a month later, on July 28, Linscott allegedly went to What's the Scoop a second time and again exposed himself out of the bottom of his shorts to another employee.
Employees got a photo of Linscott before he left, which helped detectives identify him. Deputies interviewed Linscott on July 29, where detectives say he admitted to exposing himself in both instances. He was taken into custody.
“Two Sundays, four weeks apart, he came in and was kind of creepy to the girls right from the start, when he ordered what he was going to get, and then he's he would sit in the booth,” shop owner Chandler Bolhuis said. “Would stare at the girls when they would look back at him, he would look away. And then eventually would [...] show his genitals. And then would immediately leave.”
According to court documents, Linscott has a prior history of indecent exposure. He has faced six investigations between Ottawa County and Kent County, with one of those resulting in a conviction for misdemeanor indecent exposure.
“After the first time, I promptly got a security system, video security system in place because of it,” Bolhuis said. “Prior to that, I didn't really feel a need for it, because it's little, little old Hudsonville, and nothing wrong goes on here, but it does.”
Linscott was placed on a $100,000 cash/surety bond.
