MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — A man was seriously injured in a crash between an off-road vehicle (ORV) and a car in Muskegon County on Friday afternoon.
The crash happened around noon in Blue Lake Township in the area of Louisa Avenue and Forest Avenue, according to the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the ORV was traveling east on Louisa Avenue and was hit by a car traveling northbound on Forest Avenue. This is an open intersection with no traffic signs.
The driver of the ORV, a 29-year-old man, suffered a severe leg injury, deputies said. First aid was performed at the scene by a responding deputy until an ambulance arrived to take him to a local hospital.
Deputies said the man was not wearing a helmet and appeared to be traveling at a high speed.
