MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — A 10-year-old girl was injured Sunday in a buggy crash in Mecosta County.

Deputies say the crash happened just after 8 p.m. on Pierce Road in Austin Township. A car driven by a 31-year-old Wyoming man was traveling westbound when it approached an Amish buggy also traveling westbound.

The man said he attempted to swerve, but hit the buggy.

Eight people, including six children, were inside the buggy at the time of the crash. A 10-year-old girl was ejected and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

No other passengers of the buggy or the car were injured.
