MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — Deputies are searching for a 21-year-old man who is believed to have drowned Monday after the boat he was on capsized.
The incident happened around 10 p.m. on Lower Evans Lake in Mecosta County. Deputies say a 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, both from Rodney, were fishing when the boat capsized.
The 24-year-old man swam to safety and got help after the 21-year-old did not surface.
Deputies say it is believed that the man drowned. Search efforts continued until it was too dark to safely search.
The search will resume Tuesday morning.
