PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Meijer LPGA Classic is celebrating a decade of donations and top-notch women's golf with the tournament's return in Belmont.
144 of the top female golfers in the world will be participating in a 72-hole stroke play competition at Blythefield Country Club from June 13 through 16.
On June 13 and 14 tee time is at 7 a.m. and can be watched live from 3 to 6 p.m. on Golf Channel.
On June 15 the tournament can be seen live on Golf Channel from 3 to 6 p.m.
On June 16 the tournament will be live on Golf Channel from 1 to 2 p.m. and live on CBS from 2 to 4 p.m.
A complete schedule for the tournament and concession hours can be found here.
The tournament supports Meijer's "Simply Give" hunger relief program, helping to support local food pantries across the Midwest.
Since the tournament began, it's raised over $10 million for the program and supplied more than 94 million meals for Meijer's food pantry partners.
This year, the tournament's goal is to raise $2 million for the program.
“As we commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Meijer LPGA Classic, we reflect on a decade of dedication to the tournament’s mission of feeding our hungry neighbors across the Midwest,” said Rick Keyes, president & CEO of Meijer in a statement on their website.
Proceeds from the tournament and all of the additional festivities it includes will benefit Simply Give.
Throughout the tournament, those in attendance can donate directly to the program at donation stations and through their purchases on the course.
In addition to these primary contributions, whoever wins the tournament will take part in Simply Give's mission by selecting a hunger relief organization of their choosing to receive $25,000.
While the tournament is taking place, there are numerous activities families can participate in.
The Meijer LPGA Classic 5k Run and Walk is being held on Saturday, June 15 at 8 a.m. at Rockford High School.
There will also be a Junior Clinic on June 15 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at Boulder Creek Golf Club where juniors from ages 6-16 can learn the basics of golf from instructors at different activity stations. The clinic is free but spots are limited.
Onsite at the tournament there is a "Discovery Land" off the 18th fairway for young golf fans and their families. It will feature lawn games, live tournament coverage on digital boards and seating areas where attendees can see tee shots coming off the 18th tee.
There will also be a Family Care Area available on the course for nursing mothers and parents. The station will include an air-conditioned tent next to Discovery Land and three locking rooms with lactation and diaper-changing stations.
An additional air-conditioned tent will be located at the 16th fairway.
For hungry attendees, J. Brewer's | Frederik's is an all-you-can-eat meal experience curated by Meijer chefs and local restaurants off of the 4th fairway.
Public viewing decks of the tournament are located at 18 tee and green. Seating is free and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Tickets can be purchased daily or weekly here.
Military personnel (active, retired, reserve, veteran) and a plus one will be admitted for free. Tickets are available at will call by showing proper identification.
Fathers can also get in for free on Sunday, June 16.
