GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- We have an update about the west Michigan business featured Friday on the abc reality show, Shark Tank.
Kimberly Aya and her son Koray operate Fun Cake rentals in Grand Rapids. Their Styrofoam cakes are a less expensive alternative to costly cakes you'd find at weddings and other events.
The Ayas pitched their business model to the sharks and asked for $285,000 in exchange for a 25 percent stake in the company, but the sharks were not impressed with the company's sales.
Kimberly says despite being passed over by the sharks, appearing on show was worth it and she's had hundreds of calls.
