GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Plenty of snow didn't stop Michigan fans on Tuesday from coming out to sporting goods stores in Grand Rapids to get their Wolverines national championship gear.
As soon as you walk in the door at Dick's Sporting Goods on 28th Street, you can't miss the maize and blue.
"We were very excited," said Becky Barkema, who was at the store shopping for a new shirt.
Hats, shirts, flags, anything you can think of with a big block M on the front was flying off the shelves. The Barkema family was happy to see everything in stock after watching Michigan win the night before.
"My whole family has a text thread and it was definitely blowing up last night," said Barkema.
The shirt she picked out, is something a family member states away wishes they had.
"My nephew who's in Colorado will be very jealous that he can't come and get something right away," said Barkema.
They weren't the only ones in the store on Tuesday with family far away, though. Dawn Anderson's daughter lives halfway around the world.
"She's in the Air Force in Hawaii," said Anderson. "And she said, mom, if you get out I need you to get me one of these shirts."
Anderson was able to video call with her daughter in the store to find the exact shirt she was looking for, a gift for the biggest Wolverine fan in the Anderson family.
"She told the doctor when she was going to have her daughter that she could not go into labor on the Michigan-Ohio State game day," laughed Anderson.
If you're looking for gear yourself, Dick's Sporting Goods is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
