BARRY COUNTY, Mich. — A Grand Rapids woman is facing an assault charge for her alleged role in a stabbing Saturday night in Barry County.

Michigan State Police (MSP) from the Wayland Post said the disturbance happened around 8:30 p.m. at a home in the 7400 block of Noffke Drive in Thornapple Township.

Troopers said a 64-year-old man, who lives at that home, suffered non-life threatening stab wounds.

The woman involved, whom authorities identified as a 41-year-old from Grand Rapids, was also in the home at the time. She also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from an area hospital.

MSP said the woman was later arrested for numerous charges including assault with intent to do bodily harm.

The man was not arrested, and authorities said the case remains under investigation.
