GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The Harris-Walz campaign is scheduled to rally with one of the largest public employee unions in Michigan on Wednesday evening.
Gwen Walz is headed to Grand Rapids to speak at an event with the Michigan Education Association (MEA).
She plans to make a case on how Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz support educators and students while criticizing former President Donald Trump's public education plan.
Wife to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Gwen Walz is a longtime educator and public school administrator. She is also a former member of the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers.
MEA is affiliated with the National Education Association.
Michigan's chapter represents about 120,000 teachers, support staff and higher education employees throughout the state.
Her visit comes as both campaigns hope to secure key swing state Michigan in November.
Vice President Harris visited Detroit on Monday rallying Michigan labor leaders and union workers.
Last week, former President Trump rallied in Potterville, Michigan, touching on the economy, inflation and manufacturing.
His running mate, JD Vance, has hosted two recent rallies in West Michigan.
