LANSING, Mich. — Good gravy, Michiganders! Thanksgiving is just around the corner. That means it's time for family, food, football — and of course, your best turkey puns.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced she's looking for name ideas for the turkey that will be pardoned on Thanksgiving Day.
“I know we are looking forward to spending some time with family and friends, but I need your help," said Whitmer.
"Please submit name suggestions for the very special turkey that I will pardon soon. Everyone, especially young Michiganders, are encouraged to send in their names. I am so thankful for all of you.”
You can submit as many name ideas as you like, the only rule is that you "get creative and have fun," Whitmer's office says.
Name will be accepted until Friday, Nov. 17 at noon. The winner will be chosen on Monday, Nov. 20. You can place your vote here.
