KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety shared Friday night that detectives found Xitlali "Ruby" Cruz safe.
Cruz first went missing on June 3. Officials said she is now safely back with her family after she was found in the Kalamazoo area.
13 ON YOUR SIDE spoke with her mother while the search was ongoing.
"Very drained, very tired. It's been hard to sleep, and, yeah, I'm just very worried for her," said Ruby's mother, Juana Iris Barraza.
Barraza said at the time that Cruz had likely run away.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety thanked the public for their help in searching for Cruz.
Barraza also expressed gratitude while the search was ongoing.
"The sense of community here has been great with just trying to find her and helping in any way they can," said Barraza.
