More than 10K lose power in Kent, Ottawa counties

More than 10,000 people lost power overnight after rain and thunderstorms in West Michigan.

UPDATE: 6:35 AM: Much of the outage has been restored. Small areas still waiting for power.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- More than 10,000 people lost power in West Michigan Wednesday morning, after a line of heavy rain and storms moved through the area.

The biggest outages are in Jenison and Grandville, and along Kenowa Avenue heading southwest along I-196. Those areas are estimated to have power restored by 7:15 AM.

Another major outage is in the Wyoming area, between 28th St and 44th St., West of U.S. 131. Those outages do not have a restoration time yet.
