Motorcyclist, 21, dead in crash with car along Michigan Street

Police have identified the motorcyclist as a 21-year-old man. They say no one else was injured.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in Grand Rapids, our 13 ON YOUR SIDE crew at the scene confirms. 

It happened Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Michigan Street and Lawndale Avenue NE.

Police say the motorcycle driver was a 21-year-old man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash involved a white four-door Ford. It has heavy damage to the right back passenger side, where the impact likely happened.

Investigators believe the motorcyclist was traveling at a high speed prior to the crash. 

No one else was injured. The other driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.

Michigan Street was closed from Holmdene Boulevard up to Plymouth Avenue NE while police investigated and cleaned up.
