CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man is dead after a crash between a motorcycle and a car in Caledonia Township on Thursday evening, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said just before 5 p.m. KCSO, the Caledonia Fire Department and Life EMS responded to a crash at 68th Street and Patterson Avenue.

KCSO said life-saving measures were attempted, but a 66-year-old Middleville man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies said a preliminary investigation showed that a 68-year-old Hudsonville woman was driving a silver Chevrolet Impala westbound on 68th Street when she turned southbound onto Patterson Avenue.

According to KCSO, as she turned, she crashed head-on with an eastbound Harley Davidson motorcycle the Middleville man was driving.

The woman has minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation by the KCSO Traffic Safety Unit.
